Are ICP submissions required annually?

No.

Do all charter schools need to submit an ICP?

Charter schools receiving the $3000 funding for this project are required to submit an ICP by the deadline. Please check with your district regarding assurances. Districts were provided one allocation and it included the charter school allocations. Participation by public charter and private schools is not required but strongly encouraged.

How can a portal user request support?

Portal users may request support by accessing the “Contact Us” button, entering information in the required fields, and submitting. An email will be generated and sent to the FDOE. The FDOE will respond accordingly to the portal user.

How can an ICP be modified after submission?

The LEA will need to contact the FDOE via email or the Contact Us button to request to edit their ICP. FDOE will then return the ICP back to LEA for edits. The LEA will be able to make edits and submit the revised ICP.

How can an LEA add and remove users?

Requests to add or remove users must be submitted to instructionalcontinuityplan@fldoe.org

How do I know that my LEA has enacted their ICP during an emergency?

There are multiple ways an LEA may communicate this information, please contact your local school or district to learn more.

How do I search for an ICP component?

There is a search option provided for portal users to search by ICP component, LEA, and school year.

How do you view the integration of the recently released ICP Template within the work we are completing for our district’s ICP?

The content required by the portal is the required content/format to submit to the FDOE. Your portal submission is the ICP. The .pdf template contains the same requirements as the portal.

How does an LEA submit their ICP to the portal?

Once the LEA has completed all required sections, there will be an option for the LEA to submit their ICP by clicking the submit button.

How is an ICP enacted?

Follow existing preparation procedures for potential school closures (e.g., hurricanes). These procedures may include working with your local education board, attorneys and the FDOE. Other instances may include executive direction.

If a charter school opts out of completing an ICP, will the district receive the funds?

Yes, if an “opt” out occurs or the charter doesn’t use their full allocation, the money will go to the district and if unused by the district, returned to the state.

May a charter school network submit one comprehensive plan that lists each of the schools within the network?

Yes. Charter school networks can submit one comprehensive plan that lists each of the schools within the network.

What is an Instructional Continuity Plan (ICP)?

An ICP should be designed to prioritize the success of all students and provide the necessary access and supports for educators and students to ensure high quality teaching and learning in a virtual, remote or blended environment. The Florida Department of Education worked with school districts across the state and provided supports for developing plans for both the continuation of learning when schools were closed, as well as plans for the safe re-opening of schools.

What is the required format for charter schools to submit to their host district?

The PDF template is the required format for charter schools to submit to their host district.

When are all obligations to be liquidated and final disbursement reports submitted to FDOE?

February 20, 2022.

Who submits to the portal?

LEAs (Local Educational Agencies) will submit through a portal. Public charter schools and private schools will submit their ICPs to the district and make them available upon request. Public charter schools and private schools should contact their host district about the local submission process. The ICP template can be downloaded here: https://www.fldoe.org/academics/standards/icp.stml.

Will the ICP require an annual update?

An annual update is not anticipated.
